The Planning SectionYour Planning section will demonstrate your commitment to pupils and their learning, your professional knowledge, your teaching practice, and - through evidence of people with whom you plan - your involvement in a community of learners. Be sure to include examples of pupil work which demonstrates problem-solving, decision making, life long learning practices, use of technology in learning and increasing orientation to being contributing members of society. Remember to photo reduce these examples, putting two or three different examples on a page and always add a reflective comment explaining what those examples are demonstrating about pupil learning and your teaching practices. It is important to have long range plans and units of study available at times that you wish to use your portfolio Ð either for interviews or teaching appraisal. However, those items should be in a separate binder or duotang: they will take up too much space in your portfolio. The portfolio entries will be used to show other aspects of your professional practice in planning, demonstrating the breadth and depth of your knowledge in this complex area of teaching. As with all sections of the portfolio, your entries here will help you identify possible areas for your own additional professional learning. We recommend the following entries to this section:
The Build Your Portfolio assistant will give you specific tables and charts that you can use to keep this compacted. Previous: The Professional Learning Section |
